Completed my Rock Climbing Instructor training

Completed my Rock Climbing Instructor training
So happy to have completed my Rock Climbing Instructor training. That’s me at the top of Long Scar Crag, Pike o’ Blisco, Lake District.

On the 16th May I completed my Rock Climbing Instructor training with Climb365. What a fun (though tiring) three days – it was definitely the most enjoyable training course I’ve ever been on!

The next stage in my journey is preparing for the assessment to become a fully qualified Rock Climbing Instructor. The next six months or so will involve lots of self-led learning to consolidate all the skills I was taught during the training course – this will include honing my personal climbing skills; becoming proficient in rigging top / bottom ropes and group abseils; problem avoidance and rescue techniques; as well as group management.

I’m generally a quietly confident person, but I do tend to become super anxious when I know I am being assessed. This means I really need to be on top of my game to succeed. So I’m adopting the aged military maxim ‘Train Hard, Fight Easy’ …Wish me luck! 🙂
